Lost back end 1st time...
Driving today in a rush to get somewhere, I came to a place where I needed to turn right and the light was just still green. Temps here are in the very low 30s. Anyway there must've been a patch of ice or something as I turned the back end skidded wide, surprising me as I haven't experienced this in this car before. Good news is the slide was very smoothly controlled with a bit of opposite lock and the car felt very good the way it reacted to my steering corrections.

Really? I didn't see any light on the dash and I was definitely steering into the slide. But if it was the stability control saving me what a great feature!

By steering into the slide you have told the car where you want to go. If you had turned the wheel with the slide, or placed the wheel in the middle, the car would recover as quickly. Modern stability control is remarkable sophisticated and unobtrusive.
The little icon is brief. By paying attention to what was going on with the car you missed it.
