water in oil
i have water on my oil filler cap but not on the dipstick inside the motor..?

In the right conditions, a little condensation is okay. The important question is is it water or coolant. No amount of coolant in the crankcase is okay.

Could you give us a little more background on the recent history of your car? Driven hard? High mileage? Overheated?
Your first post doesn't exactly give us a lot to go on. |

Here`s the deal:
The oil filler cap is the highest point on the engine, so all vapors naturally migrate there, and condense as the engine cools down. This constant cycle is what causes the infamous "BMW mayo". Cars that make mostly short trips usually have a more pronounced version of this condition.
