seatbelt lights on

I pulled into 7 - 11. go to the ATM. I come out and my bimmer starts but won't go into any gears. transmission failsafe lights on.

I had the car towed home. The next morning the car goes into gear just fine. However, both driverside and passenger side seatbelt lights come on.

Has anyone had this issue ?
