F30 328i interior quality

Hi all, im new to this website and have questions on the F30 328i. Im looking at buying one because they are a jet, but im concerned about the build quality. Components like, the top front door trims and the glove box door are very flimsey and flex on the demo i thrashed. My 2008 e92 coupe is far better built even after four carefully loved but driven like they should, years. I love the F30 but concerned about durability of the cockpit. My E92 interior doesnt rattle or make noises even after using it on crap,ROUGH aussie roads. Any feedbCk would be great. ( hope i didnt waffle on too much ) cheers.

You`re not alone in this feeling....the decline in quality and design began with the E90, whose interor felt distinctly "taxicab-like" compared to the E46 that preceded it. "De-contenting", as it`s known in the industrial world....

Thanks fast bob, if you hear anything about f30 build quality pls let me know. Its not a deal breaker but a concern because im fastidious about my vehicles, last thing i want is a dodgy interior like in my old 120i

The main thing that concerns me is that each successive genration gets farther and farther away from being DIY-able for the average person. The bottom line is that in the future, owning an out-of-warranty BMW will probably be a painfully expensive ordeal.
This is true of all cars, not just BMWs....

I drove a 2013 328i as a loaner for 5 days and I can attest to the plastic/toy-likeness of the interior build quality. I owned a 1999 328i E46 and the interior was rock solid, a lot like my 2011 E70. I also drove a 2013 128i for 3 days as a loaner and laughed at how pathetic the interior was. I hated it so much I took it back to get the 3 series, but was also disappointed.

The standard 328i F30 is a screamer, but the interior is seriously something to scream about. Slap your right hand on the right side wall of the center console from the driver seat and listen how HALLOW it is. What a joke.

Do newer model M, 5 and 7 series suffer from the same quality issues? When did this B.S. start?

I haven't posted here for quite some time, but my recent ride in a 328i loaner has compelled me to sign on and spread the word! Long story short, I was disgusted by the interior quality BMW is now putting out. Honda, Nissan and Toyota have better. BMW has been trending downward for many years now, but I never never expected them to go this low. I might hold on to my E90 M3 for a long long time! So so sad

Not the 5. The latest 5 interior is the best 5 interior ever by a long shot. Very luxurious and of high quality materials.

See, when the Government spends money, it creates jobs; whereas when the money is left in the hands of Taxpayers, God only knows what they do with it. Bake it into pies, probably. Anything to avoid creating jobs. - Dave Barry
