Hello, I am considering the purchase of a 1993 740il and was wondering what the cause of a rough idle at a stand still would be? I mean you can really feel it, any ideas?

Could be a number of things. We need more info. Are you able to get engine codes for 95?
![]() I would say pass on that car, and keep looking. Last edited by JasonSC540ia; 01-22-2013 at 02:28 AM. |

To much could be wrong. But also could just be plugs. Maybe pass on it. Hard call!

What's the worst case scenerio, I really like this car and aside from that the car is mint.
. I know the short block was never changed so I'm thinking that may be the problem, would it be worth doing a leak down test? I figure if it's not the short block maybe something small.

Yep, that narrows it down. Either a disaster or a wire off. If the body/interior/service history etc is THAT good then bit the bullet and buy it and risk whatever probems come your way. If you are not really that fussed on it - walk away..
