God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993. |

Automatic or 5 speed? I'm guessing manual 5 speed. How did you discover it was leaking if you were driving?
Not leaking now? It's probably all leaked out!

I still wouldn't drive it. Untill the seals were replaced. Don't want to have to put a whole new tranny in.

Inspect tranny pan gasket and lines/cooler. Also driveshaft seal. Check tranny fluid level with engine running in park

BMW = British Motor Works = It's gotta leak
![]() Sometimes seals dry out & a lot of oils got "seal swell" additives in. This can explain why something stops leaking. I am a paranoid type of guy, knowing that this leak will reapear 500 miles from home in the middle of nowhere whilst it is 120 F in the non-existent shade Clean your motor, gearbox & underbody thoroughly, because the wind & engine fan have cruel ways to blow oil into directions where there is no leak ![]() Then find your leak & fix it I HATE leaking cars & humans
