You get what you pay for
About a month ago I set out to perform some preventive maintenance on my 99 740i with 96K miles. I changed CCV, VCG, manifold gaskets, and manifold front and rear cover gaskets. The VCG were leaking a little but had no signs of a failed CCV. I ended up breaking one of the vacuum connections off of the new CCV
. I ordered another one 2 day shipping. It was the same $40ish one that I ordered before (OEM one is $80). All maintenance done and I fired it up. Started and ran fine but had a howling sound, and lots of suction when dipstick was pulled. Sounds like a failed CCV, but I just replaced it. Drove it like that for a month. No smoke or anything, just the sound and MPG Must of happened during assembly . I should of ordered the OEM to begin with. You get what you pay for. |
