Excessive tire wear 98 Z3

Hello, I am new to your forum, been using the search tool, and am in need of advice. My wife drives a 98 Z3 2.8 we bougt a couple of years ago from my sister. Our fist trip in the car was to the BMW shop for a complete checkup. It was discovered that the car was in perfect shape except the inside rear tires were worn beyond safe driving. They were replaced with a new pair of 245/40zr17s. Now 2 years and 2000 miles later the tires are showing considerable inside wear, to the point of needing replaced AGAIN!!

Research has told me that the rear toe in is not adjustable in this car. Searching the internet and stopping other Z3 drivers when ever possible I have found a great difference in the rear tire wear they achieved, with 50,000 miles not being out the range. I have to wonder how the cars can vary that much. Especially my wifes car that has never see the high side of 60MPH. She loves the car and drives it like like the "Little old lady school teacher".

I am going to start comparing the tire sizes people have when getting the higher mileage. The last fellow I talked to got over 50,000 miles on 225s.

Those of you that are getting the higher mileage please weigh in on your setup.

Thanks and a Happy New Year to everyone.
