Well, for the female half of Texas I'd object way less vociferously.

No carry in Texas in the old days

The reason we didn't use holsters is because there was no carry allowed, we carried concealed and were prepared to ditch the weapon if needed. Carry was a misdemeanor with a max 2 year state jail sentence so ditching a gun was preferable. 1911' s were 200$ at the time, BHP's were 250$ or 300$, Tokerovs in 7.62 x 25 were less than 100$. Carry in a bar was a felony but lots of people did it anyway.

i don't know much about Kel-tec other than that a lot of people consider their guns to be crap. personally I would jump at the opportunity to buy a KSG. Personally I'm not a fan of the stock on that thing, or the receiver but i suppose that doesn't affect how it performs as a .223 platform

I like that it folds down to 25" long, but yeah, the stock doesn't look amazingly comfortable. Also considering a C93, or if I can scrape together the money a lower end AR-15.

if you go to gunbroker.com they have some decent AR lowers for about 200 bucks. Just stay away from the Omni and New Frontier polymer AR lowers.

yeah, I didn't even realize their was such a thing as a polymer lower until I started looking at Bushmasters. I wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole.

according to some AR hoarders on the local forums (northeasternshooters) the poly lowers do work, but getting them together is a bitch. a lot of times mil-spec parts wont fit without some dremeling and good ole brute force, but then you risk chipping or cracking the polymer and you just flushed 150-200 bucks on a lower. billet and cast lowers cost anywhere from 200-400 right now, stripped or loaded but imo, any firearm is a long term investment so why not just buy the right one the first time. that said, if i were you and looking for a .223 carbine/ranch gun i'd buy a mini 14. I don't like them but they're proven and have a pedigree unlike that of the kel-tec

I'd love a Mini14, but right now they're almost as outrageously priced as ARs. Of course I'm also hoping that by the time I have my car back together and can actually think about getting an other gun every one will have calmed the hell down so I can at least buy ammo for the ones I have.

giggity, certain Glocks come with those from the factory so they should be a really nice fit.

Patience is a virtue, and it is a great way to not pay ridiculous prices. These two just arrived at my door today. I put my order in on 1/17 when they could be had on eBay for $80 each.

Hopefully this is a sign of supplies and prices trying to get back to normal.

It's a sad day when you pay 160 dollars for two 10/22 magazines.

Maybe the cold meds are messing up my writing skills. I ordered these from Ruger for MRSP. I know it would have been cheaper if i found them in a store, but i didnt want to wait for that. On the day i placed my (back)order, they were going for 2-4x MSRP on ebay and a local gun forum.

I opted to wait it out after paying about $70 shipped for two. The dumb, gun-ban-scare person could've had two for $140 if you check out completed listings. It's just funny how people paid such a premium to have things immediately. Yes, I couldve paid less if i waited longer, but i dont mind buying directly from Ruger if it helps their bottom line. Full disclosure: I'm a owner of RGR. Like 0.0000000000001%, but Obama has been very good to me.

So I got a chance to fire some handguns at an outdoor range(popped my pistol cherry!) and played with a Glock 17 and a Glock 22. I wanted to see which caliber I would like more, and trying them out actually made it more difficult to decide.

So maybe I'll get both.

It was out near Tracy actually. My buddy lives off of Holly Road and he drove us out to the place. I forget the name. We also shot his .40 ruger and some .3006 rifles. Good time.

No kidding.....I didn't know we had anything out here. Livermore has a rifle range but I didn't know Tracy did. Sounds like fun, will need to check it out.

I have a few toys myself.
My first gun is a 9mm S&W . Later I found a walter p32 made at the end of ww2 & was a germans service weapon it has the german bird engraved on it with the letter N under the bird. My next is a rugar made during the german occupation in Poland. Both are collector pieces..
I bought a ar15 & a amd 65 Hungarian AK the same day a few years ago.. the ammo is hard 2 come by now.. I found this cool astra 9mm that holds 17 in its clip. Its fun 2 shoot.I have 2 Beretta Px4 storms as my C&C ..one is a 40 & the other is a 9mm.

Still looking for new ones 2 pick up.

So my sights came, and I'm kinda wondering whether or not to install them now :/

I've let them sit in the sunlight and under our kitchen lights, but they're still impossible to see any color in them. In low light the green pops out, but the orange is hard to see. Am I missing something with these? I kinda thought they'd be visible during daylight too..

the mepro's are designed to be used day or night with the emphasis on night shooting. i think once you have them on the weapon you'll see that it's a lot easier to sight them on target. that said, the white dots around the tritium on my sights get lost on really bright targets sometimes.

That's what I'm hoping, I think since I got them I may as well try them. I can always sell them and take a small loss if need be.
