Logic 7 Sound System

I bought my '04 745Li just over a year ago from a guy that only owned the car for a few months. He bought it from an insurance company and the sound system was pretty much gone. I've purchased a few of the missing items such as the logic 7 amp, antenna tuner and the DVD navigation. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing to complete the setup in the trunk to get this thing back to stock or aftermarket alternatives. I've got no sounds and this needs to end. Thanks ahead of time.

Yes, it does have all speakers besides the rear deck. Even the subwoofers are under the rear seat yet. Let me get back to you about what's greyed out. Thanks for responding.

Well, the only two things greyed out are the cd and cd changer which are both in the car. Also, while choosing any of the options, such as bass, treble, or logic 7, it will not allow me to make any changes to the settings. Any reason that this may be?

First all the parts that you mention verify that all is plugged in with no fiber breaks.
Also since these items came from a different vehicle they all need to be coded. The best thing to do is take the vehicle to the dealership and have all the modules updated. I would do that so you will know where you stand and yes it will be a charge of at lease $300.00 and it will take all day.

Thanks Nygel and 219BMW. I know that I'm still missing a component in the trunk. Can either of you shed some light on this?

How about you take a couple pics of the rear
Driver side of your trunk where all the parts
Should be . This way people can see what is
There & maybe tell you what is missing .
Also you should remove the panel from that
Side before you take any pics .

I know it's been awhile, but here they are. I know that I do have the amplifier, antenna tuner, and DVD navigation in place. Any other help would be appreciated. Thanks

looks like your missing the TCU & SVS .
& that AT Tuner belongs in the rear passenger C Pillar .

Thanks Paper. Any chance that you could enlighten me as to what the SVS is? I did find the TCU. Thanks

If you dont plan to make use of these modules you should just by pass them using a most fiber diagnostic tool. You can find it at the deal. Each one is around $40 or so. All the modules are connected via a fiber connection. If the ring is broken by missing modules then nothing will work.

You can research "MOST" on here. There is a good document I found on how things work. I will see if I can track it down and post it on here for you.

Thanks for the help everyone. I really appreciate all of your input. Does anyone know if the sound system would work without these 2 pieces? I've got no response from my entire system.

So you already tried bypassing the TCU and SVS as suggested in the post above?

Not yet. I just wasn't sure if these 2 items were essential for the system to actually function.

No they aren't, As others have said there are at least two modules missing, which do appear to be the SVS and TCU. Although there is a bracket for a fan (thats missing) and the radial fan at the bottom to the left of the NAV, I understand thats only fitted if you have the DVD changer? I maybe wrong, can someone verify this?

The SVS sits above the NAV unit using the three M5 studs, the TCU goes on the vertical bracket with four fixings, roughly where you are holding the antenna module.

You need to get into the drivers side C pillar, there will be a ring break there where the antenna module should be, start by fitting that first.

Then loop out the ring breaks in the boot, it looks like you have the antenna module plugged into the TCU fibre connector, put a loop there and another one where the SVS is, looks like the connector is floating around the rear light.

You can buy the loops from the dealer, personally i remove the fibres and insert them into a short piece of rubber/pvc tube facing each other and tape them to a thick bit of wire for support, its cheap but be careful you dont want to bend the fibre cables!

Hopefully that should get you up and running!

Hope that helps,

Stuart
