Smh...can't be serious. All this for a battery replacement!!!

Well just got a call from my Bimmer dealership....$260.00 for a new battery, $75.00 to registry the battery to the car, and $290.00 to code the damn car.......ooooh not mention $230 for my oil and filters change!! Feel like I'm about to write a check for my mortgage!!

They don't call them Stealerships for nothing... in the future it may be worth spending the $35 for the BMW INPA EDIABAS scanner and software and an hour or so of your time learning how they work so you never have to pay such extreme prices again for such basic work.

Had you done this yourself it would have been less than $200 instead of the grand you just had to shell out and about an hour of your time.

DIY prices would have been about $130 -$170 for a decent battery, $60 for the Oil Change stuff, and coding would have been free if you had the software and scan tool.

Take it to any decent bmw indy and let them do it for fraction of the price. Lol they were charging me over 500usd for registering and battery, i showed em middle finger and took it to an Indy and they did it for 30 usd lol, battery is expensive tho.

What the hell are they coding for $260?? That is a damn joke. And $230 for an oil change Go to bimrs.org and find a good indy.

Where is a good place to by BMW INPA EDIABAS scanner and software?

Paid $180 for a new agm battery. Registered it myself. I buy my oil at Walmart. $25 for a 5 qrt jug. I usually buy 4 at a time. Or if autozone has a deal for a jug with filter, I'll do that. I usually have enough oil and filters to last me a year. Our cars take 8 qrts Or more ( if you have oil cooler option), so the dealers rape at 10 bucks a qrt.
