Accident: Need advise how to fix front bumper

Please see the picture for the front bumper damage. On the passenger side the bumper got damaged.

What are some options to fix this cheapy? I'd rather not buy whole bumper or something that results in an expensive fix.

If I need to buy new parts, I'd appreciate if you could send me a link where I can purchase the part.

Thanks.

Drill one hole on each side of the tear
Put some gorilla glue between the torn edges.
thread a zip tie through the holes, then zip tie the tear back into shape.
In a couple days, after the glue has set in, you can either cut the zip tie off, or just leave it
on for max. strength.

Then buy a new BMW e39 M-tech Impact Strip Front Bumper trim RT off ebay for $35.

You can fix it cheaply but it will obviously look like you fixed it cheaply. If it were simply replacing the trim strip, you could get away with a pretty clean repair. But the top edge of your bumper is torn. That will look like cr@p even if bondoed and painted, unless you are a pro. Just getting the trim strip painted will cost you more than the part. If you don;t have Shadowline, use PN 51118226562, If you have Shadowline use PN 51118159352 RealOEM has it as a $16 part. Just get it at the dealer.

I am not too sensitive about the crack on the top edge. If the trim strip does the trick then I am ok with it. May be I can replace both sides trim strip than getting the expensive paint job.

Open to ideas. This is an old car (relatively speaking, I have even older cars) and I am not trying not to put in a lot of money.

If this means you're putting money into it, then buy a new bumper.
If you don't want to put much money into it then fix the bumper yourself. Look like the tab at the end just come off the mounting. Get a heat gun and work the tear on top back in shape. A new trim piece would make it look ok. You don't need the M-tech strip, just the regular one.

OP, if you're in Tampa FL,

They will sell you a brand new, unpainted facelift bumper for about $70, maybe $80 top. Brand new.
Call them. Let us know what you find.

I contacted that facility. They have the bumper for $51.75. But it is not painted.

What's the trick painting these bumpers?

On a separate note, since this accident in the morning... my heater does not work. I checked the radiator and it is full. No coolant leaks. What else can it be?
