Z3 Coupe (E36/8) Z3 Coupe brake lights

Hello - I am new to this forum. I have a 1999 Z3 coupe - for 11 years now - great car. just recently the fuse for the brake light shorts out when i hit the brakes - anyone experienced this? if so - any clue as to where the short typically occurs? thank you for any assistance

I'm just taking a guess but maybe in the wire loom in the back hatch. My rear wiper doesn't anymore and when I researched what caused the problem i read the wires are a little to short and can tend to brake over time. I haven't got around to fixing the wiper but if the 3rd brake light is shorted, it would blow the fuse.

thank you - thank you - thank you. I jiggled the wires at the hatch and sure enough the brake lights worked again without blowing a fuse - at least now I know the general location of the short -
yeah - my third brake light has not worked in a couple years - same with the rear wiper blade. love the car ....196,000 miles
