The drive down from MA to MD is about 12-15 depending on the route taken through or around NYC. The George Washington Bridge in NYC is $5 bucks alone!

I love my EZpass. The Mass Pike (I-90) is a toll round here, and I'm on it quite often. I have them for both of my cars, and if its not used, not money is taken out. I often run a bill of about $30 a month going to Boston and back via the Mass Pike.

I attached a credit card to it, and it just takes its money. I also set a email notifier so when they take money, I get a email about it, then I check my credit card and confirm they only took $40 (I have two, so min is $40, refill at $20).

you attach you card to it and it does that rest, Patrick explained it pretty well, it's stupid simple. it won't let you drop below 10 dollars of balance and you can have the account statement sent via email. you can also list each of the car's you want to be authorized to use it.

We have FasTrak here, same thing, and I can't imagine life without it. Haven't stopped at a toll booth since 2006.

They're actually taking out manned toll booths entirely on the Golden Gate.

Any errors in this post are purely Swype's fault, not mine.

What website you use. The EZpass site I was at said apply and there were annual fees etc.

If you move, get a new vehicle, or change your credit card or bank account, you can update that information securely online, by phone at 877-762-7824, or at your nearest E-ZPass Service Center.

If you want to get an additional transponder, transfer a transponder, get a privacy statement or close an account, you can download all the forms and information, or log into your account to request these actions to be processed.

So you only have a fee if you chose the detailed statement approach. Not needed, since you can log in online, and get the details for free.

Well dang in VA its mandatory $35 so im going to wait till closer to the time. ANy idea how long takes the transponder to get here?

The email i just got says within 7 business days.

$35? It says $10.... I think MD requires a monthly fee.

E-Z To Replenish
When your E-ZPass account reaches a balance less than or equal to the Replenishment Threshold for your account (minimum $10 per transponder), you will see a yellow light as you pass through the toll gate in some locations (some locations are open road and do not have lights). This tells you that it's time to add money to your account (if you have $10.25 on your account, and you pass through a 0.75 cents toll, you won't see a yellow light until you pass through again, by that time the account may have replenished automatically depending on your payment options).

We have SunPass here which is essentially the same thing. The airport here worked a deal with the expressway authority and they put in SunPass lanes for the airport parking. Don't have to stop to get a ticket from a machine on the way in, don't have to stop and pay on the way out, and I get a statement emailed to my work address for free each time so I'm all set for my travel expense reports.

We have no toll roads in SC at all. But where is the toll road in MD going to Bimmerfest, the only toll I hit from here to Annapolis is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which is only a toll going into the eastern shore.

Yeah, FasTrak does that at SFO parking. Unfortunately, I always fly OAK or SJC. Oh well.

The tunnels on the I-X95 freeways that run under the harbor at Baltimore are all tolls.

Forgot about that one.
