New top
2004 Z4 2.5....... Top was damaged, had replaced, they did a great job, but there is more cabin noise now. Any suggestions... Doesn't leak, seems tight. It has a head liner. Is it possibly not as insulated. Anyone else had the same problem and is there a way to cut down on road noise

Did they use an OEM top?

Drive with the top down then
![]() Seriously, it takes very little material sticking into the airflow to make a lot of noise. Look at the fit at the top of the windshield and around the side windows. Years ago I had the noise drop after replacing the top on an old Triumph. Looked to me like the only difference was the after-market top material was a whole lot smoother than the factory rag. |

Did you try turning up the radio?
Seriously! Take a look at the fit between the windows when they are rolled up and the new top, if there is a gap there it can result in noise? Good luck

It is part of the experinece....
I often pine for my long lost TR8, grumpy old beast that it was. Less so for the Fiat that came before it. Good luck with the top. |
