Dealer service recomendation in Orange County CA
HI,
I just got my first BMW, a CPO 2010 528i with 36,000 miles. I still can't stop grinning when I hit those sharp curves. I'm also discovering some neat features of the car like the movable driver's armrest. I recently noticed a message that the left foglamp is malfuntioning. I also can't get my garage door opener to "pair" with the car's. I found this car about 50 miles from where I live in Orange County in California and the nearest dealer for service are Irvine BMW and Crevier BMW in Santa Ana. I've check their review at Yelp and most positive reviews relate to car sales. Most negative reviews are about service. Anybody out there that has experience with these two dealer's service department and which would you pick over the other? A referal to a specific service representative would be very helpful too. Thanks in Advance and happy driving! |

I have always had a good experience at Crevier, they also don't mind modded cars. So if you plan on modding your car that is where to go. Irvine BMW tends to be more "snobby" they don't like modded cars and don't treat you that well, from both experience and from what I've heard. The best bit of advice I can give you is: Go to Crevier and learn to take care of your SA, when they take care of you get them a gift card for dinner, a good bottle of wine, or their preferred bottle of spirits. A good SA is VERY hard to find, and they will go to bat for you with their management and BMWNA if there is a gray area that may or may not be covered. Unfortunately, the SA I went to at Crevier for my previous 530 moved on to another career.

I have also had excellent experiences with Crevier BMW. I have had my 535i, our 2009 328i Convertible, 2004 X5 and 2002 330 and 1998 540 all serviced at Crevier.

I don't live in your area, so I can't help you find a shop. About that garage door.. if your garage door was made in the last 20 or so years than it probably has a rolling code, if you know about rolling codes feel free to stop reading right here. If you are unaware of rolling codes...
get up on a chair and look on the garage door motor for a button, push it and then try to pair the car. Salesmen always love to say "just hold your remote up to the mirror and hold both buttons in until the lights blink thrice", unfortunately that hasn't worked since 1990.
