Is this normal?
I parked my car in the yard with light snow on the ground to see if any leaks were present. I went to start it today and I heard a bunch of popping, clicking sounds of noises as I tried to back it up, the car just died, try again, died, no power. Then I put it in drive and drove it forward to park in the dive way. It's making weird sounds. Does this happen to anyone? Is it just because its very cold?

You need to buy a cheap code scanner, and check the codes given. Post back when you have the results, and we should be able to help you. No, it is not normal, and could be a lot of things. A guess would be a waste of time and money. You could als have a broken belt, water pump, or many other things. You need to look under the hood also, to make sure that everything looks ok. Do not drive the car until you know what's going on. If you are not comfortable with any of this, have the car flat bedded to a trusted shop

Or, just jack up the license plates and put a new car under them....

That's what I'm doing this spring with my Wife's 2005 Avalon. Car runs great, has only 70K, and looks like new, but she wants the new one. Don't want to spend 42K right now, but what am I going to do? The things we do for love!

You also mentioned "yard"... some kind small critter; rodent family, perhaps, may have wreak havoc on your electricals or hoses or something. I'd suggest; Do a thorough inspection to rule out these possibilities. Jack up the car, place on stands, use a work lamp to see what may not be clearly visible. If all clear, do a scan for codes, and that would be a good place to start. Good luck mate.

I would, but it's cheaper to keep her! 21 years, the courts would frown on me. I better add that I am jk in case she sees this post!
