Any stored codes?

Modern cars are designed to start up, and gently move away, without standing. The engine will actually heat up faster this way. Easier on the engine, too.

Try this technique, and report back.

What year 528?

FWIW, '99/'00 dual vanos M52B28TU motors give Beisan systems a lot of business for vanos seals... (car idle oscillates and then stalls when cold ... typically occurs below 40F on 100% cold starts)

I did mine 2/10/08 (nearly 5 years ago) and haven't had a stumble, jolt, cold stall issue in 4 going on 5 winters.

Posted about it on the Vanos forum HERE.

14F here yesterday and for overnight tonight.

Probably not. My understanding is that Dr. Vanos is using Beisan seals ... could be Internetz lore. LOL.
