"Brake" on dashboard display on the 335i
Starting yesterday there has been an amber "brake" light on the dashboard display. If I apply the parking brake the warning turns read and says "release parking brake". Also when I first turn on the car I get an icon of the car on a lift which goes away after a few minutes. The car is scheduled to go to BMW Manhattan Wednesday AM so I am not too concerned but I am curious as to what that "brake" icon on the dash means.

Low brake fluid level, worn out brake pads and/ or sensors, it's good to have the brake lines checked as well....good luck and let us know what they find...

I think it is the new driver comfort software from BMW advising you to stop, have a cup of coffee* and take a few minutes rest before continuing your journey.
[*coffee is purchased at the driver's expense. BMW is not liable for any injury sustained by contact with hot beverages]
