Alignment question .
Hi all
Brought my car in to Rallye BMW today ,noticed front right tire rubbing slightly on inside of fender Before dropping it off i measured the distance from top of tire to fender Driver side 3 1/2" Passenger 2 1/2" told SA this morning Sa called and said inside fender/ mud guards out of alignment that's why it's hitting ,need to remove bumper ,going to be at least two hours labor and then see what other parts needed, would not be covered under warranty wtf? Then I said no one has ever removed this before .???? Then he says what about the alignment ,we could do that for 325! So had new tires put on two weeks ago Did get a price from Rallye but at 3,100 decided to go House of tires instead . So is it possible that the alignment could change the distance from the top of tire to fender ? Thanks Last edited by Silver2010; 01-22-2013 at 03:21 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Who's your service advisor?
I'd get a second opinion. |

Alignments are recommended after new tires, but shouldn't be compulsory for the car to track straight (with new tires). Probably most needed if there was an alignment problem previously, where the old tires didn't wear evenly.

Total waste of time at dealer ,I guess they are used to people not paying attention,I'm at a loss ,
Seems once SA realized I wasn't buying that an alignment would change height of tire to underside of fender I got the cold shoulder ! Well I need the loaner back. Twenty years ago .... Would have said take your piece of ........ Back , oh and go .... Calmly returned loaner, nothing said , nothing Like receiving a bad meal and the server knows it Now I have to try and find a place that's gonna be straight with me or someone can recommend a honest place? Or take the dust of the tools and pull it apart myself What a shame ,would have been so convenient , dealer literally two miles from the house |

Sorry to hear this; Rallye has let me down too, as mentioned.
Give Hassel a shot, but be sure to look your car up and down before dropping it off! |

checking ride height is part of every ksd2 alignment if ride height is not correct alignment can't be performed than technician will replace your leaking air strut under warranty

M&b Tek,
So ride height needs to be correct prior to alignment? After strut install I assume alignment is needed? Would this also be a warranty item as well then? Thank you |
