335i 2008 Repair and Recalls

I bought a twin turbo 2008 335I Manual Transmission last month with 40 K on the car.
Runs great I like it. BMW warranty for years was over so I bought another extended warranty.


5 days ago SES - Service Engine Light turned on so I took the car to the Dealer for a check and diagnosis. After the Diagnose I was told that High Pressure Pump has to be replaced under BMW's extended Recall and there was no charge. I became friendly with BMW Advisor and showed him extended warranty. After some time I was told my Fuel Injector has to be replced too and that was not under recall and as I have the extended warranty it will be covered and all I have to pay is the deductable. I suspected that outcome but went with the repair. After online research I found out that High Pressure Pump and Fuel Injector were both Recalled by BMW and they were to be replaced as part of of the recall.

I have a feeling the BMW advisor TRICKED ME when he saw that I have extended warranty and came up with additional repair. I took the print outs of the information and showed the Advisor that both parts were under recall. He instantly came up with " Oh yeah but not for your VIN" I was like ok and left.

I'm researching more and finding out that both parts are part of the recall and I should not even pay the deductable. I will go into more details and will also contact BMW customer service.


Can any one let me know information about recalls of High Pressure Pump and Fuel Injectors? Can the Authorized BMW Advisor make up repairs and stories, I know mechanics are different creatures all over the world.
