Feel the X5 is trying to drag.

I don't know my x5 feels like it wants to go but some thing is holding it from behind. I just got mine last week. I did not feel it until I really stepped on the gas and did not see the quick response. I have 800mi on it any reason for this ?

Did you take the emergency brake off? :-)

Hope it's not this. Now that I think about it, mine felt sluggish before the engine malfunctions occurred.

thanks for that info I am positive I don't have the E Brakes on.

Mine has no errors and no misfiring. It feels as my tires are not letting the car roll my gas mileage max I had seen is 18.7mpg. I have doubts on these run flat tires.

Wow 18 is great! I get much lower.

I noticed a similar thing with a 328i loaner. Driving it was just torture as it didn't want to go. After a day of that I started just flooring it at every opportunity to get it to kick down. It must have been the learning xmission, because after about 45 minutes of that abuse it loosened up considerably and felt like a normal car.

Not suggesting that just yet since you're still in your break-in period, but it might be worth trying once your dealer has ruled out a mechanical problem and you're over 1k miles.

Well I have noticed it has got better after 1k mi. It's. 3.5.

The response you've described seems to be a design issue with the fuel/transmission control. I've experienced as much as 1.5 seconds between hitting the gas and getting the expected accelleration. To my knowledge, this has never been fixed.

If you drive in manual the response is fine I guess you are right it's the design issue.
