you probably don't have a BMW extended warranty being that your car is a 2005 and the max warranty plan from BMW I believe is a 7 year plan. If you had or paid for an aftermarket warranty you would probably know about it when you purchased the vehicle.

However, to answer your question you can contact your local BMW dealership and have them check your vehicles warranty status. (only BMW warranty not aftermarket warranty status)

Check out Route 66. The policy is sold by credit unions. For my 08 535i with 57K, it cost me about $2600 for 48 months or additional 48K miles. I called the local BMW dealership to inquire about a comparable plan and the best they could quote me was around $3400.

Awesome cars, but if (when) something breaks, it is nice to have the insurance policy in your back pocket. It is like disability insurance in that you hope you never need to use it, but reassuring to know you've got it.

Does it include ALL the services by BMW dealership? Like... brake change.. oil change.. all other inspections and repair..? Or is it for certain things only?

Fluids, hoses, brake pads, oil and other "wear & tear" items are not covered. Service guys inspect car, determine what needs to be done, call R66 for authorization and then do the work. Customer pays the State sales tax. The big items are covered.
I haven't had to use my coverage yet, but will post up when I do and will give specifics of what was covered and what wasn't.

Damn I might have to look into this since I drive about 20k a year.

I asked the lady at R66 about installing the Cobb mod. She indicated that "anything that would void a manufacturer's warranty would also void the R66 one." Sounds like the Cobb is a no-no if you want the warranty. :-(

That's why you uninstall it before taking it in for service.

So it's that easy? Is there a limit to how many times you can install/uninstall?

Interesting....

Nope. You just want to make sure to update the AP periodically with the cobb pc/Mac app. Also I recommend using a battery tender or charger during the install/uninstall process. Other then that it is very easy to use.
