Mundane/useless road warrior tale

I travel for work; land at O'Hare last week and go up to my assigned Avis spot. There waiting for me is a 528xi upgrade.

Trudge back to the agent in the freezing weather and tell the lady to give me a regular car. The woman almost chokes on her gum. I explain to her that I am not going to drive up to my Client site in a 5 series. Plus I get all my 5 series fun at home and don't really want to drive a 528i (of course did not tell her that). She ends up putting me in the most stripped down Malibu. Serves me right

Anyways, the O'Hare Avis is loaded with F10s, F30s, and a handful of X5s. Dilution of our brand?

That is hilarious!! As for dilution, that already happened when BMW sold more 5 series than its competitors!

I actually rented an X5 in Florida from Avis. You would have to boil it down to BMW wanting the cars to get into more dirvers hands. I often look for cars that I might buy at the rental location so I can really test it out. Of course, how they're optioned will influence people's view of the car. Knowing the rental companies, they got a good deal on these to stick them into their fleet.

Pretty soon people are going to realize that they don't have to return to a BMW dealer for a brake job!

What was the problem with driving a 528i to your client???
