Any recalls yet?

Received a phone call today about a recall, for a "check" of the hydraulic bearing.
Apparently it may cause some vibration.

I haven't noticed any unusual vibration. I'm 8 hours from my dealer so
I'm hoping to hold out until my next oil change in March 2014.

Anyone else get this recall message, or have vibration?

You mean a crankshaft bearing?

And if so, I see it would be on the 6 cylinder.

Or the 6 spd trans?

The lady just said hydraulic bearing in the voice message.
I have no idea what that might be.

Maybe that's another term for torque converter in auto transmission which can definitely cause bad vibration, but still work somewhat.

Also, maybe they mean bearing on hydraulic steering.

PS pumps can easily leak, and one reason, I love my electric steering on s28i (not hatting on x35i).

I'm about to get my X1 recalled for this. Its been awhile since the recall was announced last fall and wondering if anyone else has had this recall done? (My production date was February 2013)
A control arm in the front end that requires a new bushing.
After that, a 4 wheel drive alignment is needed apparently.

I have 11Km's on the car so far and have not noticed anything wrong with the driving characteristics of the car. Just wondering how safe it is to drive it since I might delay the work being done due to time constraints with work and travel time to the dealership.
The dealership said it was safe, but now I'm curious about more of the technical details with
this particular recall and BMW hasn't provided that, yet.
Part of me is paranoid that more could go wrong, because it sounds like they might have to rip the whole front end apart just replace a bushing?

Hoping someone has been through this already.

Curious. Did you go to the BMWUSA site, look under tab OWNERS, select Recall and put in your VIN? At least you could find out the status of the recall and more info than you received in the phone call.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the voluntary recall of more than 75,000 3 Series, 5 Series, X1, X3 and Z4 models due to a possible loss of power brake assist that could result in the vehicles failing to stop. The recall affects 2012-2014 models equipped with either the N20 or N26 engine produced from May 2012 to August 2013.

Finally got the car in to fix the recall.
I think they replaced the entire control arm, but not 100% sure.
All seems good, car drives the same, but maybe it was some preventative maintenance.

Bulletin 31 80 13 0031620100

They also did a wheel alignment afterwards.

Here's a good vid of BMW traction arm.

Does the bulletin indicate a range of production dates that are affected?

I don't think it does, but that would be some good info.
I'm guessing its a small number of cars since the inter tubes have no mention of it anywhere.
