Dang door handles!

I replaceing the third interior door handle in 90K miles on my 528 today. This is the second on the drivers side and one on the passenger side. Another POS plastic piece that should really be metal. I dont consider myself ham handed, so Im not sure what the problem is. Oh well. Just keeping the $110 monthly average repair cost going.

There, I feel better....

My 3d driver side door handle broke again. First one: the original broke in Mar 2010. Second, purchased from local mechanic shop ($55.00) broke in Mar 2012. Third, purchased from Rockauto.com $18+$12(shipping)=$30, broke today (Aug 2013) What the hell!!! All appear to made from the same material (abs plastic stuff) and look exactly the same...

I've never had a single problem with mine. Must be an aggression thing.

I broke one. I think the trick to making them last longer is to make sure your doors are unlocked before you go to open them. Thus avoiding the 'one to unlock, two to open.'

+1 keeping them Unlocked. Otherwise you need to hit the handle twice to get the door open. I'm on my second handle in my 97

I have gone thru 2
$5.00 at the junk yard.
We're lucky...SoCal is a mecca for wrecked BMW's.

Last time I went, I bought 2 extra.
The good thing is, they are interchangeable with the back doors.
