Changing Interior Lights

Hey, I was wondering how much it would cost to change the interior lights of the interphase of my 2008 328i coupe from orange to blue (i.e. the lights all on the interior, from spedometer to radio). I have the navigation screen.

If someone could give an estimate of total cost after parts + labor it would be great. Thanks.

So you want your BMW's instrument panel to look like that of some Japanese POS? Don't, please. That orange light BMW uses (whose wavelength is longer than the blue light you propose) was designed to minimize the impact on your night vision. It's that color for a reason.

We do carry an interior lighting kit for your car. You can check it out here. Please note that it does not include bulbs for some of the things you've mentioned above such as dash, radio, and navigation.

The dash and radio are the OP's main concern. The other interior bulbs are simple, and relatively inexpensive, to replace. What the OP wants to do would be difficult and pretty expensive.

No, you can't have it done at the factory if that's what you mean. And if Munich found out about you changing their highly engineered amber interior lighting they would probably send their henchmen over to personally revoke your right to own a BMW.

The color has a lower frequency and a high wavelength that is easier on the eyes. That's why the military uses it for reading maps at night. I think it is a great color.

They use it to read maps at night because it is much harder for the enemy to see.

Hey i actually changed all my interior lights to a blue because i got blue light up dash off ebay wich looks awsome in the day its the racing white and a beautiful bluea t night. so i wanted to match the dasg wth the rest of the car. i also added led to the cup holders and ashtray. to bring a little more light into the car. and plus i have 5% tint so nobody can see inside the car. i have a silver car so blue was my favorite choice, however you could choose whatever color floats ur boat

i got all the materials of of superbrightleds.com 3mm 2000mcd 20mA blue led bulbs for the ODC, door lock, auto to manual button, and transmission gear light (i have an automatic transmission so the P R N D 1 2 lights)
I chose to put 5mm 2500mcd 20mA blue bulbs for the Window/Sunroof switches but there is no need to the 3mm work just fine. (those were the first switches i changed so thats why i just went to radio shack and got one led bulb to test it out.
I will defiantly post some pictures up of what it looks like later on. i need help however changing the traction control (asc), hi-def speaker switch, and the air conditioning/heater.
im currently trying to change those but they have different led. the bulb is incased in some sort of plastic that is used when u push the button to work. its hard to explain. but if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. please and thank you

Twice, I drove a 2003 Jetta to Kansas City and back. The blooey-blue VW instrument lights didn't bother me nearly as much as I feared. Perhaps it is due to my red/green colorblindness.

It's Mike444 people. Same guy who wanted his "break" Pads changed for free after 2000k miles or so. Sad.

He never let us know how that turned out for him.
