7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

From all that I've read, you should never need fluid unless you 1) have a leak or 2) planning to change your fluid.
You have to drop transmission pan and do other stuff to do it. There's no "add port"(under hood) or even dip stick for transmission on our cars...unfortunately.
Hope someone gives you more expert advice/info.

Smoothy22, the advice Ultimate745 was as good as it get. If you think you need to check the fluid level, you must have vehicle running in Park on a lift and the tools for removing the filler screw. Be very careful when removing the filler screw, after feeling the screw is at its last thread, slowly back it out, fluid WILL come out which is normal, and the screw should be immediately tighed back up. If nothing trickles out, then add until it starts flowing out and immediately put the filler screw back in. Same procedure as checking rear-gear oil. Hope this help...

When You checking the fluid, transmission should be cold. 40-50 deg C max checking with diagnosis software or infrared thermometer
