Iphone5 and USBport issue

I am trying to charge my iphone5 using the centre console usb port. It is not working, but when I use the same cable in my house it works.

I was hoping to connect my iphone to 528Xi, using the center usb port, is it not possible?

Is this a bad USB port or is it a hardware issue that the 2012 528 Xi, is not compatible with iphone 5? The bluetooth function works but not the usb connection.

Any thoughts or trouble shooting tips???

I found the answer. I had to update my software and this fixed the issue. Here is a link for the updated software, if any of you have the same issue:
