windshield wipers on 2010 328i

Hi,

Iím getting noise when I turn on the windshield wipers, I havenít changed them since I bought the car in august 2010, I think itís time to change them . but my question is do I have to go to BMW dealer to change them or I can go to any auto shop like wal-mart and change them. Are there specific ones for BMWs? Or I can use any ones.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe this is an item covered by warranty.

Actually it is the free maintenance, but regardless, they are free, along with oil changes and all other maintenance work for 4 yrs 50k miles.

My local BMW dealer replaced my wipers under the maintenance warranty whenever needed regardless of time/mileage since the last service.

in some cases I would buy OEM parts, and for wipers thats one that I would spend the cash and get the OEM blades, I never had any luck with After market wiper blades, they squeek, raddle and chatter

just my opinion

Agreed and that's for pretty much every car I've ever owned too...

Valeo appears to be the supplier for the 3er blades from the factory. They looked identical to the ones on my mom's 325i and my dad's X5 (in their respective sizes) and lasted for a long time.

BMW uses the Bosch. They're actually the Bosch evolutions.

Just as a cheap option, Costco sells Goodyear blades for about $8... I run them on my wife's 328xiT without issue... Tried them on my 328CiC and they chattered and squeaked... YMMV, but its a cheap alternative if the work for you...
