Exclamation Stranded twice with x3

We leased a new 2011x3 in June 2011. In august 2011 we had a complete transmission and electronic failure with the car. Called roadsode assitance and had to have car towed. Car was in BMW service for over three weeks at new London ct dealer.

Seemed car was fixed but this weekend in Vermont, car again started breaking down. Warnings of "transmission failure" and had problems shifting from park to drive. As weekend wore on additional wArnings of "low coolant", low battery with key remote and low battery with engine. We were able to drive back to NYC where car was again towed to BMW manhattan. They cannot figure out specific problem yet.

Has anyone see had such unreliability with x3 and suggestion on options with BMW north America. At ths point we would like a new replacement car.

Document, document, document everything you have experienced with service orders, memos of phone conversations (get names and titles), with summaries of what was discussed and promised. In short keep a log of all your communications with the dealer(s), BMWNA, and anyone else that is involved (tow truck driver - as to when and where it was towed). Keep a contemporary log of every thing. You need to lemon the car, or get BMW to replace the car in lieu of lemoning it. Sadly there are lots of posts about this kind of thing, it is not unusual for BMW to trade assist or replace their cars. Good luck and keep us informed. Many of the members here have had these experiences will be able to help.
