I have a key remote, not a fob. I know that it is suppose to recharge, but no longer works. can someone tell me how it opens to change the rechargeable battery and if they know what #battery is it?

Thanks, Ira

CR2032 battery is a standard issue watch battery available everywhere. The video uses a screwdriver. You can also use the end of the metal key blade to open the case. Just to be clear it is only for Comfort Access key fobs that are NOT chargeable.

If you know that the key has not been sitting unused for a long time (rechargeable battery runs down if not in ignition) then you may need to replace the entire key or the battery.

The dealer will say the entire key, but the key body can be cut open and a new battery installed.
