"E" and "F" code help
I have no idea what E/F code my car is.
I have a 2011 328i 4dr sedan. What is my E/F code. Based on my online research I have a E90? But I saw the new 320i is a F20 or something? Any help woule be appreciated. Thanks. |

These are called "chassis codes" and are BMW internal codes for a particular year and model. Your car is an E90. There's a pretty good description of all of the BMW chassis codes if you just click on the "BMW Models" link on the bar above next to "Home".
The current 3 Series Sedan and upcoming Touring (station wagon) are the F30 and F31 respectively. The new 320i is an F30. The current coupe and cabriolet (convertible) are the E92 and E93 respectively, but they will only be produced until the end of June 2013 at which case they will be replaced by the F32 and F33. P.S. You can also look up "3 Series" on Wikipedia.
