Tanqueray Gin*, a few drops of Noilly Prat dry vermouth, shake with ice vigorously and strain into a chilled glass. One olive.
*another acceptable alternative is Hendrick's

If it doesn't contain gin, it's not a martini as far as I'm concerned.

You seriously didn't understand what that thread had to do with BMWs? Obviously you're drinking too many martinis.

I like both Martini's and cocktails, but what you are describing is a cocktail and not a Martini.

Mine:

1 part Belvedere
1 part dry vermouth
Shake w/ ice
3 gorgonzola stuffed olives on a skewer

"Their" is a possessive pronoun. In a phrase like “Susan and Bill's car,” it could be used to to make a new phrase: “their car.”

”They're” is a contraction of “they are.”
“They are” should always be able to replace “they're.”

Extra credit: It's "I'm looking for an M3" not "I'm looking for a M3".

SO you make your martinis out of Bombay Sapphire and ice cubes that have been shaken with Vermouth and then had the Vermouth removed?

Yes. It's very dry

But I'm usually a scotch drinker so much of the civilities of martinis are lost on me

I've heard this story a few times.
In 1952 when the US tested the first H-bomb a bottle of Vermouth was taped to the tower.
When the bomb went off, the Vermouth was vaporized.
Observers a safe distance away had gin and ice ready................worlds driest martini.
