IMO, none of the built in options make much sense.

Putting an aftermarket Nav/Head unit is a big problem
Putting an aftermarket Nav/Head unit is a big problem with
these cars as there are all kinds of side effects. One of the most bothersome is the BMW diagnostic computer will not work with a car that doesn't have its original configuration including the radio. For this reason the radio should be retained and/or mounted somewhere else in the car . Any add ons the car may have such as SOS, Bluetooth phone PDC, satellite radio functions will be lost and may cause permanent error messages. It is possible to do but the original radio should be mounted to avoid the above problems. http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27 search for head unit in the above stereo forum. |
