What bulb is the ORANGE ceiling dash illumination light?

The light that gently washes over the whole center console at night - you can't barely see it, unless you put your hand up and then youll see an orange light hitting your hand.

Its coming out of the ceiling - black panel with two little open holes. Not the standard inside illumination bulbs. But the orange one that gently washes over the center panel.

I need to know the exact bulb type so I can have someone switch it out with a different color. Hate that stale orange!

Mine appears to be an LED. I wouldn't be surprised if it's soldered to a PCB and isn't able to be ordered independent of the trim panel in which it resides. This would make it a little tricky to change (not impossible). You'll need to find someone very adept at electrics and have them explore the alternatives that are available.
Also, BMW chose orange because it doesn't effect night vision as easily as colors on the opposite end of the spectrum. I'm not sure what color you're going for, but anything beyond red/orange has the potential for making driving at night a bit more difficult.
