Wheel spacers slight vibration.

I installed some Racemax wheel spacers from BMP on my X5M. 12mm front and 16mm on the rear. I have to admit that the look is awesome. Perfect!

I am surprised that the vehicle feels looser, ie under damped on the standard suspension setting and turn in is oddly faster. I guess when you increase the rear track 8mm over the front it's going to feel different. Also picked up a slight vibration around 72-73 mph that I'm trying to figure out. It wasn't there before installing the spacers. I did not install the spacer to disc locking screw because BMW rotor lock screw is a little different. I wonder if this is why I'm getting the vibration. Unlike some spacers the Racemax are not perfectly symmetric since they have a hole to accommodate the locking screw.

About to take the spacers off to see if slight vibration goes away. The truck definitely feels different with the spacers.

Any similar experiences? Thanks

Exclamation

My wheel and tire guy has always told me other than offseting the wheels closer to the fender, spacers just are horrible overall.
Just his opinion
Good luck

Already took them off. Vibration completely gone and the truck rides better. The Racemax spacers fit well, the hubs we're nice and tight. May try again with a different brand.

I'm using BBS spacers, but only because the 20" BBS SV wheels are built with BBS proprietary PFS "One Size Fits All" centerbore. No difference in vibration with or without the spacers at speeds that are; um, well above the factory limiter thanks to the new Dinan software

The BBS spacers do not secure to the hubs with screws - just a line to line fit. The BBS spacers are machined aluminum castings; not from billet.
