Do you know if a larger than stock tire will fit the 550i sport?
Wanted to hear from some of the experienced members here if I have any options for a larger-than-stock tire size with the wheels I just picked up?
I have an 08 550i sport and am running the staggered stock sport wheels and tires; Fronts: 8.5x19 wheels and 245x35R19 tires Rears: 9.5x19 wheel and 275x30R19 tires Not certain of the OEM stock sport wheel offsets? I just picked up some BC Forged wheels with the following specs: Fronts: 9x19, +15 offset Rears: 10x19, +25 offset Now, my question is: Must I get the same exact size tires or can I possibly fit a larger tire without any rubbing to give it a slightly more aggressive look like an M5? Please let me know your experience, advise, suggestions and/or opinions. Thanks!! |

sure you can run the same tires, or you can go wider like 295 at the rear but the front keep it at 245,
I run 255/40/19 at the front and it rubs a little at the bumps, and 285/35/19 at the back and its perfectly fine So if you have to buy new tires get 245/35/19 at the front and 295/30/19 at the back and it will look very nice ( not sure if 255/35/19 will be ok for the front)

so you basically adding half inch of width that will be distributed to 3mm to the inside and 9mm to the outside in the front. In the rear, you are putting most of the extra half and inch to the outside (about 14mm). I think you'll be OK, the easiest to try is to put masking tape across the fender well and see how much clearance you have between the wheels to the masking tape on the stock wheels. The question is are you dropping/slamm the car with aftermarket suspension? |

I like the idea of the larger rear, I just hope it doesn't stick too far out from the body? I think I may just have to find someone with this model 550 running the same spec wheels to know for sure if they will fit? I will probably pick up some Pilot Supersports for these wheels. |

I was just thinking it would be nice to have a bit more side wall than what it has now with the stock wheels. The wheels I just picked up are a half inch wider which seems like I am going in the opposite direction than I want to if I cannot put either a wider or taller tire on it. |
