tranny alert
Hey everybody. I have a 745li, and im wondering about two things. First, if my transmission runs low on transmission fluid, will my car alert me?
Second, my car is leaking something. I dont think is oil. Its on the passenger side tho. The only thing i can think of under the car, on the passenger side that could leak something is transmission fluid. Plus, my take off isnt like it use to be. Seems like since ive been leaking this fluid, my car isnt riding the same. Like its lost power. My transmission isnt shifting hard when i put it in gear tho. This is why im somewhat confused. Any ideas? Smoothy22 |

Smoothy, you could start by checking your oil level, just to get an idea if you're loosing oil.( no way of checking transmission fluid levels)
Also, as I've stated to a couple other members on here, there is a pan under the transmission that catches most of the leakage and only shows up when it overflows. When I had tranny issues (because of mechatronic sleeve) I only saw leakage every 2-3 days and finally got the Transmission Failure warning so I had it towed and repaired. I wouldnt wait till the warning if I were you, though.

My guess is that your leak on the passenger side is coming from your vaccum pump seal. You can get a new seal from BMPdesign for about $20.
