Anyone with info on how to test head unit to see if it is fried? Or a place that can repair? Started a thread to test amp all seems ok in the trunk. Still no sound.

There is a fuse in the rear connector of the radio (cassette deck), did you check that?
Do you get any static from the speakers or are they silent?

Thanks!!! That may be exactly what I need. Great info. Can I test to see if that's my problem or just buy it and hope?

Normally one or two channels of the internal amp fail. I am not sure how you can test when all four channels are dead. Maybe send your HU to a shop that can bench test it?
On my car I have one dead channel. I am about to install this in my e39 soon. |
