E70 Opinions Please

Hello...

Currently have a E92 and E83.... considering trading the E83 for a E70 with the v8... Can anyone offer me any feedback on this specific selection? The price seems pretty good:

This particular one has a good set of options, but is Sport Package (which includes Adaptive Drive) important to you?

It is a good sign that it is at the dealer and wasn't sent to auction, but of course review all the records in the dealer system that you can, including the DAVIS report which will detail all options and warranty events. If they don't share, walk.

Based on mileage, options, and asking price, it seems like it is in a decent price range, especially if its history checks out. If you haggle a few thousand off, you are golden.

Many here will remind you that the "outdated" V8 in this one is not efficent, and you will be lucky to get 15mpg. That is true. But you probably have already done the math and see that you might not recoup MPG savings if you spend another 15k on a newer used diesel or turbo six unless you are racking up really big miles. For me, I think the V8 is a much more entertaining engine option than BMW's diesel and gas turbo sixes.

Also, you will definitely miss the driving dynamics of the E83, but you probably already know that too!

Check the 13K mi gap in the Carfax ... what happened to the car from 07/11/2011 at 24,882 mi (Wyoming Valley Motors) to 12/15/2012 at 37,804 mi when it arrived at Daniels BMW ...?

Here are the specs on the car. This is about as basic a vehicle as they come, except that it has a self-leveling suspension. That's a nice feature.

If you continue your E70 search, I'd advise researching options and decide which ones you want. It'd be a shame to buy a $30k+ used vehicle and learn later that you would prefer one with more options.

Thanks for all the advice.. Our x3 is "stripped" and to be honest, that's good enough... The car is my wife's and she's not into all the gadgets..

This one had Premium, Cold, Rear Climate, Tech, privacy glass, and running boards so not sure it should be considered a stripped down example.
