2013 328i 'Vert driver seat not moving back very far? Need your help CA and Kat!

My sisters driver seat won't move back very far and the back won't recline past straight up. Is this normal? I'll get a picture and put it up as soon as I can.

2008 CIC here... Seats move all the way back to almost up against the rear seat, and recline just fine.... Take it in to the dealer!

You are using the buttons on the bottom of the seat, not the one up on the seat back by the latch release, right?

The electric button on the seat back is just designed to move the seat forward to facilitate passenger entry and exit to the back seat, but you already knew that.

My driver's seat moves back far enough to make leg room behind the driver's seat impossible. Ditto the back can be reclined very far back.

Ah I know this is obvious but move the seat as far forward as possible and get a flashlight and see if there is something jamming the track.
It has happened to many of us before...

My sisters car does not do that. It won't go past about the middle of the door and it won't recline more then 1/4 of the way. She's sitting almost vertical! Looks like it's time to take it in! Thanks for the help!

Well, providing you've removed luggage, Costco boxes; other objects from the rear seat / parcel shelf, gotta wonder what 'back very far' exactly means.
  • Here's a measure: Inches or cm distance from back o'front seat to front o'back seat, drivers side and passenger side, front limit of travel and rear limit of travel. If there a difference?
  • Here's another: Angle from vertical, driver's seat vs passenger seat, fully reclined and forward to the limit. Diff?
Also check codes with a suitable reader such at BT's.

Note: The BT reference is included not for -=Hot|Ice=-, who likely has seen same much too much, but for the casual lurker, perhaps new to Bimmerfest, who wishes to learn.

.

That's actually a great idea. I'll go ahead and post the measurements when I get back from work. Great suggestion! Thank you!
