Tranny reset

Hey, anybody know how to do the transmission reset trick?

Ive read that you turn the key on without starting engine then push gas pedal down completely for 30seconds..and supposedly you will hear a click sound and its done, ive done it a couple times but did not notice any difference nor did i hear sny click sound

Turn car on but not running, hold accelerator down for at least 25 seconds, start car, drive.

No sound or anything.

There isnt a "click" sound..this refers to the "FEEL" you get on your foot when you mash the pedal past half way. It's more of a slight resistance feel, but no sound.

Ok cool. Now what actually is the purpose for doing the transmission reset?

Well there are many on here that challenge the fact that it actually does anything at all,..but speaking for myself,
it helped mine with the "hard shifts" and especially going into 1st gear when coming to a complete stop.
My car would come to a complete stop and then I would get that final "jerk" from it going into first gear.
Now I dont feel that any more.That's MY experience with this Reset.

It's meant to reset how it learns your driving, so if you drive gently but the previous owner drove hard and its shifting hard / too early, the reset would tailor it to your actual driving.

Hey all, just did the transmission reset procedure on my car ,(I was feeling a little thump sometimes when i'm stopping), after the reset I notice that my car shifted smoothly it was like I was driving a different vehicle. While I was on my test drive I did a couple of stops, no thumping sound, YEAH, but when i got back home i had to stop to turn into the driveway, I did hear the thumping but wasn't as pronounce as before. Someone mentioned on the forum that they had the GUIBO replace, whatever that is...

Yup...get the flex disc change and your problems will be gone .......

Gotta say, I've been reading about the transmission reset for years here, and finally decided to try it today. I have a steep hill I drive down daily and the transmission has always down shiifted 2 gears as I go down the hill at 30 mph. And the second downshift has always been a real jerker. Today, after the reset, it downshifted smoothly only once and I'd say all the other shift points seemed smoother and almost un-noticable! I'm a believer
