Z3 Drain holes?
Is there someone could tell me where are the drain holes on the car? Mainly around thé rear window. I imagine these holes are located on both side Behind the seats but i do***324;´t know exactly where
We must remove the soft top In ordre to unclog them or not? I hope it Is the explanation why i have water under And Behind my passenger seat because this water does not come from the butyl join as some of you told me. Bye Fred |

Scroll down to step 4 in this top replacement thread. It's the Gutter Box, and the top can stay on.

While those drains can get plugged, water from that area drains to the trunk, not the cabin area. It will find its way to the ribbed panel at the front of the trunk and run in, then to the battery box.
If those are clogged, they are almost certainly not the cause of water behind your seat. Some people have wet carpet due to clogged cowl drains. but that water will be under the dash, not behind the seat. See post #17 of this thread: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=672692 |

Z3water Behind seats
Thanks for thèse précisions
I finally understood from where this water comes. Yesterday i removed my hard top to see if there Is the same probLem with the soft top. Today it rains so I saw from inside water flow just above the black join In the step4 you mentioned (just on 1 inch under the word "tack" on the pic). I hope to stop this leak with silicon join or In using waterproofing because it jjust corresponds to the area where the soft top Is doubled. Water flows above the black join so according to me the problem does not come from the butyl sealant as i often read on the discussion but give me your opinion i am very interesting In Regards Fred |
