I noticed something today when browsing RealOEM. If you look at this diagram, part #8 is a different knob and appears to be the "more correct" knob if you have the CCC CD/DVD system. (Part # 65839119610)

The other diagram which shows the knob as part # 65126923294 is actually the M-Audio system which seems to be different than the CCC based CD drive (note the two buttons just to the right of the knob).
Hi Yorgi I looked at the diagram and it looks like the part #8 might be it but it says it's pearl Gray? I don't know about that I will order it and see what happens. Thanks for the investigation.

Im hoping to be in toronto in June visiting my family and going to the formula 1 event in I think Montreal... not to sure my brothers in law are taking me. So I will let you know when I am there. thanks

If you are flying into Philly and driving there you will pass within a few miles of my bar...I mean house Let me know when you are in town. Your welcome to my bar or I'll come out and meet you.

I think it's the least we could do to buy you a drink after highjacking your thread with our whiskey worshiping

...and nice job Yorgi! I went back into RealOEM trying to find that button with no luck.

Hi Mulch I will definitely let you know when I am there sounds like fun.....Highjacking the thread heck no that's good clean fun!!!! I'm all for it !!! This isn't work we can do what we like!!!

Well, I went ahead & bought one of these, it looks like it is for an LCI model, it is far bigger than our CCC version.

We test them so you don't have to!

Man that sucks !! Your original knob doesn't look to bad compared to mine!
I think we might have to order the whole volume assembly.

Did you guys ever get your knobs sorted out?

Still haven't found it yet. But if you want to drive to Modesto we can drink some scotch and sort it out. At least attempt to don't know what will happen after the 3rd glass.

After all my research I don't believe a seperate part number exists for the volume control knob for the CCC. It's not list in the ETK system (OEM parts catalogue).

I had posted a part # earlier but it is for the CIC. You may be right. It may not be available.

Here is a thought, my prior German car had the same issue with the radio knob. The fix that was commonly used was to buy black platidip in a can that is used to coat tool handles. Jam the knob onto something like a pencil eraser, lower it into can, let it dry and voila, new black knob.

I talked to the shop I use and they said that no PN exists for just the knob. Need to order the controller the knob is mounted to.

I will just turn an aluminum one out on the lathe.
