All I have to say is wow and everyone must do this. This is how the car should have came stock. My car has DDC and ACS springs and I am in sport mode 99.9% of the time. Before the M5 sway bar I would rate the handling of my F10 a 4 or 5 out of 10 at best compared to my previous E46 and E90 on coilovers but now its a solid 7.

The suspension just feels tighter and more solid up front and you notice this when going over bumps and uneven roads. The car is flatter during turns and the steering feels alittle more direct/precise during high speed lane changes. Before I would anticipate the roll/sway movement but now the car just points to where you want it. It isn't a track car by any means but that wallowing feeling is pretty much gone or barely noticeable anymore. Nothing negative about doing this mod at all so far. Very pleased.

Another member already verified it also fits his 550i so it is safe to say this works on all F10's regardless if its rwd or awd.

Alan
I got the front sway installed as well. I definitely could feel the difference at higher speeds and when driving in the highway, but not much for normal driving on local roads (not that I expected much difference on local roads).

Btw Alan, I got my bar installed in the same place as you in Brooklyn.

^^ Nice! I'm assuming Alex worked on your car? He's the only one there that touches my car aside from the owner himself.

You notice the most on the highway during high speed lane changes and curves.

Alan

what's going on with the 18mm M5 sway bars? should be a better fit than the F07 bar?

Joe@ptech already tried the M5 rear bar but the links were not lining up.

Just did some research on real oem and found that the f11 m550d has a 18mm rear sway bar. Not sure if our dealers can get them here

Alex was busy running around that day. He had one of the mechanics take care of it. No big deal as it was just a simple swap.

Yeah, it's most noticeable on curves like you said.

got the 650i 16mm rear sway bar, but it turns out the bushings are not included as the m5 bars, and they are twice as much as the sway bar itself... ouch... fingers cross for the fitment

I had the standard ZSP Sport Package front anti sway bar, measured at 23mm diameter replaced, yesterday, with the considerably stouter M5 one on my 2011 535i. This was done on a lift by a local BMW trained technician who works on BMWs & MINIs, exclusively, in his own shop. I'm glad I had him do it with his looking up propper bolt tightening torque values (quite tight) on a subscribed BMW website. He also installed a set of mud guards on the vehicle. The bar install took about a half hour's time.

Without having done any other suspension modification to the vehicle, this modification has greatly enhanced its handling and I highly recommend this relatively inexpensive modification under the classification of a "No-brainer."

I await direction as to which rear anti sway bar upgrade to install, the standard one looking little more than the diameter of a pencil. It looks like the replacement of the rear bar will require exhaust removal.

This is awesome to hear. Everyone with an F10 complaining about sloppy handling must do this mod. If people look on realoem.com the F10 comes with a wide range of front and rear sway bar sizes depending on options so it could have a even bigger impact on cars that don't already have the thickest stock bar from the factory.

Alan

What size bar did you use and do you have a link to it?

Thanks in advance

I purchased the bar at Tischer BMW/Get BMW Parts:

http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462
Insert part # 31352284460 in "Search Accessory Catalogs:" box & click on "Search"

I didn't measure the diameter of the M5 bar. Just the 23mm ZSP Sport Package one I replaced from my 535i, in case someone wanted to purchase it from me.

In the words of the Nike advertising phrase:
"Just Do It!"

Awesome! Thanks Rhonig. So, this $254 sway bar is all that I need for the install?

All parts are provided with the M5 anti sway bar or taken from the stock bar. The part was not in stock, at Tischer BMW, so delivery out of Germany was about 3 weeks at my time of ordering.

Just got back from a nice long speedy drive and I am starting to really like the way this big sedan moves now. I can't reiterate it enough that this simple upgrade does wonders on the F10.

I decided to take a 3 year lease on an M Sport Package 6 MT 535i to be built shortly. Having experienced the M5 anti sway bar in my 2011 535i, I want to make sure it will work in the M Sport 535i if I order the "Dynamic Damper Control" or not to order the "Dynamic Damper Control" at all.

Does installation of the M5 front sway bar have any adverse implications for the warranty on the car?

if whatever happened to the front suspension you can always swap it back to stock bar before taking it in for warranty claim. only 30mins labor.

No. Frankly nobody is going to know the bar isn't stock just by looking at it. Unless the tech has another F10 next to it to compare they aren't going to know. Plus with all of the different packages the F10 comes in the front bar comes in all different sizes as is.
