This posting is directed to those of you who aren't sure that replacing their f10 OEM front anti sway bar actually improved or will improve the drivability of their vehicles. Having put an M5 anti sway bar on my 2011 535i, sport package, and now having re-replaced it with the original in anticipation of installing the M5 bar on a 2013 soon to be delivered, I have the following observation to report. The 2011 car now wallows considerably more with the OEM bar and the replacement M5 bar's absence is noted & is still most highly recommended.

That is powerful feedback! Thanks.

I ended up completing this today. Some advice, don't try doing unless you have the e18 torque socket, you can purchase a set at harbor freight for $10. I was able to complete no problem With the car on ramps had no issues with removing bar while it was sitting on them. Use a breaker bar to loosen and tighten bolts they are a bitch to remove evn with bar. And finally wear gloves I didn't and tore my knuckles up.

Awesome!!

Question - did you do the REAR bar, too? Just curious, as that was the one where I definitely could not manage to get it done with the car on ramps (I started on ramps but ending up having to jack the car up so the wheels would hang low enough to give me the clearance needed to extricate the bar). If you were able to do it on ramps, it may be worth sharing some pointers on getting the bar out so others can do the same (setting the car up on jack stands can be such a pain).

I did not do the rear bar yet. I'm waiting to hear more impressions of what the effects are before deciding if its worth it.

Cool Will this fit on a 2013 528 xi w/ M Sport?

Will the M5 Front Sway fit on a 2013 528 xi w/ M Sport? I've checked REAL OEM and the part #'s for the front sway seem different between the trim levels for xi and i.

Searched this thread and haven't seen an answer to this (if it's already been answers, my apologies!)

The body roll on my f10 w/ msport has been pretty disappointing. Thinking this will be my first mod (if it fits). Maybe do the ACS later

Thanks

the install only took 25 mins. it's easier than the front since there's no belly pan to remove

didnt have a chance to drive fast enough to test it out tonight, will report back later.
So after driving around in a 650GC loaner and falling in love with the way it handles I decided to order the rear bar even though its only a 1mm gain for my xdrive with ddc. I figure for less than $200 its worth trying out if it can bring me alittle closer to how the 650GC handled. I'll keep you guys posted when it comes in (currently on back order)

Thanks for confirming the part numbers Nison!

Alan

Please confirm. The rear bar is ~$200 but aren't the rear bushings twice as expensive x 2? And for those that have upgraded both shocks and bars, would you guys recommend doing shocks (ACS) first or sway bars?

I ordered the part numbers listed by Nison and the bar was around 150 and the bushings were 20 each. I hope the correct part numbers were listed lol

Thats so strange. Is the part number exactly the same as the one you posted and nothing more? I don't even think retail on them is that much. I actually paid 17 bucks for mine from Tischer and when you pull it up it shows its for a 550GT but don't think it matters as long as the inner diameter is for a 16mm bar.

It is the exact part number I have on my car. It was 5x more expensive compared to the 15mm one when I order mine. Now they're the same price.

Anti sway bars from M5, front, & M550D /650i, rear, per Nison's part #'s, are now installed on my 535i w/DDC, as of this morning. The pair really work well & the overall improvement in handling is greatly noticeable in very flat, high speed, abrupt lane changes on the highway return drive from the install. I highly recommend this relatively inexpensive suspension upgrade. -Feels like the BMW handling I remember from past vehicles I've owned over the years.

Ok, I am trying to decide if I want to take this path on my 550I Msport with EDC and all kinds of sport + stuff that I am still trying to figure out. ACS springs to drop one inch, front and rear sways based on this thread, new lighter rims and 20" NON RFT tires. Does that sound about right? Just sold my Camaro ZL1 that handled like a race car but had a ride like a tank. My mistake was taking the BMW on a road trip this summer and then driving the Camaro to work as soon as I got home.......obviously not even close so my mind has been made up for me. Get the BMW more horsies and get her a little tighter on the turn. Is there going to be a group buy of some sort and does this MOD actually perform noticeably better. Sorry a lot of questions but I want to get it right. Has anyone made a list of the PN's for the sways and springs? Alan L. nice ride.

I've read the entire forum and I see that the F10 M5 FSB should fit my 11 F10 535 xdrive Msport if I don't have ACS. But I've seen conflicting information about whether my car has ACS? Also, can anyone confirm that the 011 F07 RSB is the one that will fit my car?
