2014 750ix Trim Dilemma

I have decided on a 2014 750ix with Alpine White Exterior and Saddle Interior. I am going with the the Executive, Driver's Assistance & M Sport Packages, as wells as some other extras.

Here is the dilemma:

Originally I was going with the High Gloss Fine Wood Trim, however, I have quickly been educated by my soon to be comrades that there is no rear wood shelf.

I have looked at the other trim options, but they just do not seem to go as well with my Seven as does the High Gloss Fine Wood Trim.

Suffice it to say, I do not want to join the Seven Series Kia Club (unless Andriana Lima comes with the car instead of the RWS).

Any opinions on another Trim selection?

Does the absence of the RWS really matter?

Does anyone have any comparison pictures?

You'll never notice it. I have a black interior with whatever dark dark grey wood comes with it. It's gorgeous. I think that would look great with a white car

I test drove a saddle interior and it had the burled walnut w/inlay, and I have to admit it looked pretty sweet, Richard109 has that in his car, you may want to see if he can post some pics, I think he has the saddle interior as well...

2014 750ix Trim Dilemma

In all seriousness the fine line looks good, I like the matte version. My car is so darkly tinted only way I could see the wood shelf is to climb back there and take a picture.

Get whatever floats your boat.

I had some kind of matte wood in my last 7 series and the best thing about it is that it doesn't show all the damn little swirl marks and scratches like this plastic coated wood does.

Someone needs to be the man and get that white ash wood already so we can see what it looks like. If I were going with alpine white exterior i'd get black interior leather with that white wood.

Fineline matte is the only other wood I like. This gets u a shelf. Honestly I don't care about the rear wood, it's nice to have but not a deal breaker.

2014 750ix Trim Dilemma

Thanks for all of the input. It has been very helpful. I am going to stick with the fine line trim.

It would appear, however, that a new dilemma has arisen: high gloss vs. matte.

I really like the high gloss, but the matte looks nice as well. The problem is that it is hard to tell from the configurator how the matte really would look in the Seven.

To tell you the truth, I have read numerous topics on this and have yet to check or notice if my car has it or does not. I would not worry about it one bit.

2014 750ix Trim Dilemma

I have a good news and a bad news: my ride is finally arrived it has all the power options BMW offered on 11. The bad news is No RWS. The first owner even paid extra for the wood trim and no RWS! What's up with that
I am in the KIA club, not even made it EQUUS...

I had it in my 09, I don't have it in my 13. It is nice, yes. Would anyone else ever notice it is missing, no. Don't lose sleep over it. I still enjoy my new Kia made in partnership with Huyndai.

But... RWS helps the fuel efficiency! No? I am in a culture shock, after Prius and learning curve steeper than I thought. I have to learn to use all these 6NF/ZLS/ZLU/ZPS/6UK/ZCE/XE6/ZDA/4ND/4U1/5DF/416/229/610/ZRP/2ST/3AG/ZCW
Here is my to do list:
1. Detailing
2. Snap-in adaptor for iPhone 5 or hooking iPhone 5 (y cable did not work for me)
3. having a wifi hotspot in the car for the kid
4. BMW assist reactivation
5. Nav update
6. Coding
...
199. Visiting a carpenter and getting a piece of walnut

I have the Burled Walnut Trim with Inlay and think it looks really sharp. Picture is not the best but you get the idea.

I'd just get whatever you like best. In the end YOU'RE the one driving it.

That said, I have my rear view mirror angled down so I can stare at my RWS. It's gorgeous...

Genius! I don't have the shelf so I just angle the rear view mirror at my crotch and stare at its magnificence.

You just like the "objects in mirror are bigger... err I mean closer... than they appear" slogan...

I like this trim alot, but I think it goes better with all black, rather than the saddle. I really do like the color and design of this trim, but I would prefer it without the inlay. (Just my opinion.)

For those who absolutely must have the RWS even if BMW does not provide it, here is one possible solution . . .

I am new at this. But based on my understanding, you need to have it. If you don't have one I can make one by retrofitting the composite deck pieces laying around the back yard
