Tranmission Malfunctions 08 550
Driving today on the hwy 80mph and the transmission malfunction requesting to reduce speed and of course it was a hard jerk. I pulled over and un cranked the car and the car is running great again..Im clueless what this may be.. Any Help will be appreciated..

have ur battery and alternator checked, car gives out screwy codes when voltage is low ,,, mine started doen that , and my cluster lit up like a Christmas tree, a transmission malfunction code kept on poping up and stuck to a gear , restarted the car and it went away,,, then all the rest of the codes followed, take ur car to auto zone thell check ur battery and alternator for free,,,then go from there,,,,hopefully that's wat it is ,after I changed my alternator no more code pop ups. ,,,

Had battery and alternator check and both were good. The crackshaft sensor was the issue now the 550i is running smooth again.

I have experienced this a few times as well; last night in fact. What was the cost to fix the crankshaft sensor? Time for the warranty to do its job!

Do u know where the crank sensor is located on a 545? Also did a trany malfunction error pop up on ur 545 ?

Had the same issue doing about 80mph. $350 later and a new cranck shaft sensor and Im running smooth again..
