Tranmission Malfunctions 08 550
Driving today on the hwy 80mph and the transmission malfunction requesting to reduce speed and of course it was a hard jerk. I pulled over and un cranked the car and the car is running great again..Im clueless what this may be.. Any Help will be appreciated..

Had battery and alternator check and both were good. The crackshaft sensor was the issue now the 550i is running smooth again.

Good to c ,,,,,, ur back in the race,,,,that's wired how trans malfunction pops up ,, when its the crankshaft sensor

I have experienced this a few times as well; last night in fact. What was the cost to fix the crankshaft sensor? Time for the warranty to do its job!

Do u know where the crank sensor is located on a 545? Also did a trany malfunction error pop up on ur 545 ?

Had the same issue doing about 80mph. $350 later and a new cranck shaft sensor and Im running smooth again..
