I completely agree! The $650 for ceramic controls seemed idiotic to me when I was building my car, but I ultimately decided I better do it or else I'd regret it. I am so happy I did. Not for one moment have I ever thought I should've saved the money. It is worth it to me every time I adjust the A/C temp, radio, or change gears. I have no idea what they were thinking with the M6. The black ceramic makes a surprisingly big difference to the appearance of the entire interior, and to leave it off of the M6 (the most expensive car BMW makes - aside from the 760Li which hardly counts) is just asinine.

Very interesting that the 2014 6 series ordering guide does not mention it, but the BMW web site now shows the coupes have under build you own option section - " soft close feature uses small electric motors to gently close all four door and trunk lid" Not sure why they say all 4 doors on the coupes, but this is new, never mentioned the trunk lid before. Likely just copied from the sedan section. and while is says this under 2013 BYO, I'm guessing it for '14's. We shall see, but a good sign this has been addressed !!

US MSRP $104,995 (just beat the $700 Jan 2013 price increase)
ED Invoice $90,860
Dealer Profit $619 ($500-$1,200 is considered a good deal)
Holiday Rebate $3,500
Owner Loyalty $750
BMWCCA Rebate $1,000 (must be a BMWCCA member for at least a year)
Dealer Accessories Credit $250 (for annoying Mrs D)
Net Cost $85,579 plus taxes/fees

So 18.5% off, not too bad.

We started at the European Delivery Invoice price (invoice of the car and invoice for the options less the European discount) and then negotiated their profit from there.

I'm familiary with the standard USA, as well as the Euro Delivery setups, but, what is the Diplomatic US Port of Entry option? Could anyone shed more light on this, how it works, and who qualifies? I'm actually in the import/export industry, have a TWIC Card and commercial vehicles to access the ports, and wondering if this option is allowable for me. Please advise...thanks.

ED went smoothly and I enjoyed my visit to Munich. I got my car last weekend - it only took 30 days to reach the dealer. They did some warranty work on the HUD and I picked it up the next day.
